CAMBA 2020 ANNUAL MEETING
Keynote by Ramzi Kassem
In accordance with the Bylaws, the Board has set the date for the 2020 Annual Meeting for Monday, November 23, 2020 at 7:00 pm.
It is with great honor and privilege to announce that this year’s fireside chat will be with Professor Ramzi Kassem.
Professor Kassem is one of the only Arab and Muslim Americans to argue before the United States Supreme Court, having argued Tanzin v. Tanvir — a case about whether the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 permits suits seeking money damages against individual federal employees— last term. Professor Kassem is the Founding Director of the CLEAR (Creating Law Enforcement Accountability & Responsibility) Clinic at City University of New York (“CUNY”) School of Law and is one of the nation’s preeminent scholars at the forefront of movements for social justice
The discussion with Professor Kassem will touch on a wide range of issues, including, George Floyd’s murder and the ongoing social justice movement, the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of Muslim lawyers in the legal profession, and this year’s presidential election.
The fireside chat will be moderated by CAMBA Board member, Lukman Azeez.
