CAMBA 2021 ANNUAL MEETING
Fireside Chat with Nabiha Syed
In accordance with the bylaws, the CAMBA board has set the date for the 2021 annual meeting for Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 6:30 pm. (The meeting was initially scheduled for Thursday, December 16, but a conflict arose and we changed the date.) The meeting will be held via Zoom.
We are thrilled to announce that this year’s fireside chat will be with Nabiha Syed.
Syed is a prominent First Amendment lawyer in New York City. She is currently president of The Markup, a nonprofit news outlet that that investigates how powerful institutions are using technology to change our society. Previously, Syed was Vice President and Associate General Counsel at BuzzFeed. As the company's first newsroom lawyer, she oversaw litigation, including the "Steele Dossier" litigation, as well as select intellectual property, security, international, and cross-company strategic initiatives. Syed has been described as “one of the best emerging free speech lawyers” by Forbes magazine. She holds degrees from Yale Law School and from Balliol College, Oxford University, which she attended as a Marshall Scholar.
After the fireside chat, you will have the chance to socialize with fellow CAMBA members in breakout rooms.
Registration is free for CAMBA members and for non-members. Active CAMBA members attending the event will receive an edible gift from us by mail in advance of the event. If you are not a member, or your membership has lapsed, it's not too late to enlist or renew now!
If you’re interested in attending, please RSVP at the earliest convenience. For those members wishing to receive the gift, the deadline to register is Thursday, December 9.
Sincerely,
-- The CAMBA Board
